The Otake Life Saving Club organised an international exchange programme through life-saving training with the members of the BMD Northcliffe surf club in Australia, their sister club, in summer 2019. Together they also conducted a junior summer programme for primary and junior high school students, in which they shared and deepened understanding of training methods suited for the hydrographic conditions and coastal features of Otake Beach.

The programme took place on Hokota Beach, Otake Coast, where the ocean is constantly moving. A training session was conducted to acquire deeper knowledge of the varying hydrographic conditions of this specific beach. The purpose of the programme was to improve physical strength, acquire life-saving skills and knowledge, and share the spirit of enjoying the ocean with participants of different age groups.
