We held the two-day international footabll exchange event with a total of more than 20 collaborators intending to contribute to the improvement of soccer skills and attract interest in Japan and overseas for 200 children in Surin Province.

In April 2016, when the GM of GDI Communications visited a female employee dispatched to Thailand as a JICA Volunteer, he learned that there are few international exchange events through football and that the locals also want to hold an event. This laid the foundation for GDI's first event to be held.
We conducted efficient Japanese-style training using the methods of the English Premier League and professional baseball that our employees experienced.

With the local announcement of the Thai League team Surin City FC, 155 children gathered on the first day and 142 children on the second day, and enjoyed interacting in Japanese, Thai and English. Some of the children said, "I want to go to Japan someday," and it was a success not only as a soccer event but also as an international exchange event.

See below for the Japanese version.

Comments from Surin Community Development Bureau staff:
This is the first major international exchange event in Surin Province. I'm proud to be able to participate. I hope this event will give children an opportunity to become interested not only in soccer but also in foreign countries and languages.
