6 April is “International Day of Sports for Development and Peace” and also “Table Tennis Day” as endorsed by ITTF.
It’s the day where everyone around the world enjoy playing table tennis and sharing pictures and footages of them playing on online. In Japan, Tamasu Co., Ltd. who is a member of Sports For Tomorrow kindly provided this project 1200 sets of ping-pong balls (14,400 balls) so that these balls could be given as the participation prize of the “Table Tennis Day” activities to those 54 countries’ table tennis associations.
In Japan, Sports For Tomorrow member company Tamasu Co., Ltd. has provided 1200 sets of ping-pong balls to this project as a part of Sports For Tomorrow activities.
Leveraging these balls, we have provided ping-pong balls as the participation prize of the “Table Tennis Day” activities to those 54 countries’ table tennis associations.
Feedback from Organizer :
The pre-announcement of the participation prize in promoting the event worked well.
Back in 2015, it was 158 events in 70 countries and it grew to 196 events in 83 countries in 2016, but the growth was even bigger for 2017, with the numbers being 450 events in 93 countries.
We witnessed many events happening in developing countries and it is a joy to see table tennis penetrating in those countries with clear sign in numbers and pictures. We are grateful to have gotten the donation of the participation prize from Japan, not just participation to events.
