In Burkina Faso, a small country in West Africa, an old judoka said, "I want to go to the Kodokan once before I die," so I asked for donations and invited five judo players to Japan.
Five Burkina Faso judo players stayed at the Kodokan to learn the teachings of Jigoro Kano and practice judo. We also carried out cross-cultural exchanges at elementary schools, homestay experiences, tea ceremony experiences, visiting the grave of Kano Shihan, studying the history of judo, and paying a courtesy call to the embassy.

When the players return to their country, I hope that they will share many of their experiences in Japan with Burkina Faso and contribute to the development of judo.
