The NGO "Burkina Faso Baseball Support Association" was established in Japan after a JICA Volunteer was dispatched to Burkina Faso, and is promoting baseball in Burkina Faso and West Africa. In addition, since 2012, we have invited local players to Japan for training to support the development of baseball. As a result, in 2016, one registered player of the domestic independent league Kochi Fighting Dogs and one for Niigata Albirex started their baseball journey.
This year, we worked with the supporting organization of J.O.C.V. to improve baseball skills and sports management in West Africa.
Utilizing the accumulated methods, we established a joint West African selection team in collaboration with West African countries and worked to leap forward for great development.
The Supporting Organization of JOCV is working to expand the circle of support for the JICA Volunteer project by the private sector. We provide funding for the project and cooperate with public relations.
