To provide an environment that facilitates the holding of matches and high-quality training, for the promotion of Karate in Côte d'Ivoire. Assistance provided by way of grass-roots culture funds to establish a new Karate dojo and provide mats, training equipment and refereeing equipment within Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
The handover ceremony for the handing over of the Karate Dojo and equipment stipulated in this plan was held in September 2009. Since that time, students have received expert guidance from a Japanese master sent to teach and the Karate Ambassador's Cup was held, attracting over 1,000 athletesFeedback from :
The Minister for Sport of the Cote d'Ivoire has expressed his gratitude for Japan's support for sports and Karate. The President of the Karate - Martial Arts Federation expressed his gratitude and declared that he wished to use the assistance to cultivate future karate athletes. Local media have widely reported on the Programme, karate training and the Ambassador's Cup with headlines such as 'Karate - A Week of Japanese Martial Arts' and 'Karate - Partnership with Japan Strengthens
