The i-PLAY TRUE Relay, a Tokyo 2020 approved programme, was held with about 1,000 people participated including competing athletes, event volunteers, and children who cheered on the athletes, conveying a message of clean and fair sports.
Before the event, the i-PLAY TRUE Relay was held at the House of the Sun (an SFTC member organisation), a lifestyle and employment support facility for persons with disabilities opened in 1965 by Yutaka Nakamura, the founder of the Oita International Wheelchair Marathon known as the father of the Paralympics in Japan. In collaboration with the Japanese Paralympic Committee, more than 90 users and employees of the House conveyed a message on what the value of sports and strength means to them.
