Prior to the opening of the Rio Paralympics, a symposium and exhibition competition were held for the development of Synchronized Swimming for the Disabled. Brazilian, American, Canadian, Mexican, Argentine, and Japanese players gathered and performed.

Japan presented 30 years of efforts for Synchronized Swimming for the Disabled in Japan. Athletes with intellectual disabilities and wheelchair athletes acted and emphasized that Synchronized Swimming can be done regardless of the type and degree of disability.
We worked on technical training and exchanges in the pool with overseas players.

See below for the Japanese version.

Feedback from Local Contacts :

The long effort in Japan was a good study. The performance of wheelchair users was a good stimulus for participating countries. I would like to expand Synchronized Swimming for people with disabilities together.
