The University of Tsukuba Physical Education Department conducts short-term dispatch of JICA volunteers in collaboration with JICA Tsukuba. During the period from January to September 2015, three undergraduate students (one month) were dispatched to Cambodia as JICA Volunteer short-term members.

With the cooperation of the Cambodian Olympic Committee, the NPO Heart of Gold, and the University of Mekong, students engaged in education for understanding people with disabilities through sports.
Students from Mekong University and the University of Tsukuba conducted a sports experience program for people with disabilities. Through the program, students aimed to promote understanding of people with disabilities, share the value of sports, and provide Olympic and Paralympic education.
We held a boccia, sitting volleyball, and blind football experience event for the general public visiting the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh. We also visited the Phnom Penh Japanese School and held a blind football class for children.

Feedback from Participant :

-I experienced blind soccer, but I really felt the importance of a partner who helped me.
-I experienced sitting volleyball, but I realized that even if it is difficult to play volleyball while sitting, sports can still be enjoyed.
