Japan's private corporations and sporting associations worked in partnership to provide assistance related to table tennis to Mongolian athletes participating in the Special Olympics and to special support schools in Mongolia, and four athletes won three medals.

The assistance was provided by the Japan Table Tennis Association in response to a request from the Local NGO, 'The Mongolian Autism Society', to support the Mongolian Special Olympics team and improve the environment for Table Tennis in Mongolia. Members of the SFT Consortium Bureau coordinated in an attempt to achieve this objective, and the project was implemented with the cooperation of ASICS Corporation, The Japan Table Tennis Association, and NIPPON TAKKYU Co., Ltd.
ASICS Corporation provided the Mongolian Athletes participating in the Special Olympics with table tennis trainers, uniforms, and sportswear. Likewise, with encouragement from the Japan Table Tennis Association, NIPPON TAKKYU Co., Ltd. cooperated with ASICS Corporation to additionally supply four special support schools (home to around 1,400 students) in Ulaanbaatar City with table tennis tables, balls and rackets. A presentation ceremony was held on 6th July and was attended by representatives from the local media.
From the 25th July to the 2nd August, the 'Los Angeles 2015 Special Olympics Summer World Games' were held in L.A. in the United States with the participation of around 7,000 athletes from 177 countries. In the table tennis category, four athletes representing Mongolia participated wearing the kits provided by ASICS. The athletes were very successful, and won a total of three medals that included a gold medal in the mixed doubles, a silver medal in the women's singles, and a bronze medal in the men's singles.

Feedback from :

The most effective thing was being able to come into contact with Table Tennis equipment of an international standard before the actual Special Olympics. The outcome of this assistance will mean that more children with autism will have the opportunity to participate in the Special Olympics from the next time onwards. I also believe it gave children with autism great hopes and dreams. I am grateful for the improvement of the training environments at the special schools and the national and international tournaments, but also for the increased opportunities for the personal growth of the children themselves.
