Held in the north of Sweden, in the city of Boden, the judo camp for people with disabilities is celebrating its ninth year. We have been continuing with our aim to gain great triumphs through judo practice regardless of disabilities.
In the Judo camp for people with disabilities, judo training centered on groundwork is practiced by physically impaired and non-impaired people. Two trainers specializing in judo were sent to the camp from International Budo University. Children and adults took a 3 day course focusing on groundwork taught by the two trainers.Pontus Johansson
Feedback from :
The participants had a great time. Throughout the course mainly focusing on groundwork, World Champion Oshima Sensei and Yazaki Sensei’s lessons were especially amazing. Participants understood the meaning of the techniques, and we realized not only hot to practice groundwork, but also that kata-form practice is good for people with disabilities. The camp has been covered by the newspapers as well.
