The organisation was established by Masao Kiba, the former captain of Gamba Osaka, to promote activities to encourage the emergence of Southeast Asian J-League players. Activities have continued since 2012 in ASEAN nations, and have been praised by many of the interested parties in the local areas.
The 'JDFA Town Visit to Ayutthaya' was held, and the representative Masao Kiba taught around 100 Thai primary school children. The visit was held on the sports field within the factory grounds of Teijin Corporation Thailand, the JDFA's official sponsor, who also added a special touch to the clinic by providing the use of a Teijin Aero-Shelter. The event was also environmentally-friendly as the children were asked to bring plastic bottles and in return were presented with shirts made from recycled plastic bottles.
