Due to COVD-19, Asian rugby players are unable to practice or play in teams. In December 2020, the Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU) exchanged ideas via online with rugby players from Asia Rugby, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, and Central Asian countries.

Coaches and athletes have asked us to provide an online training program that allows them to maintain their physical strength and acquire rugby skills in the COVID-19 crisis environment. In response to that, we made circuit training videos that incorporates programs such as core training, flexibility, and heavy circuit exercise that they can do in the comfort of their homes. The video consisted of 30 events and 12 patterns, to maintain their current physique, prevent injuries and provide athletes with proper warm up and recover techniques.

On February 14, an online circuit training class was held with hands-on period using video content. More than 250 athletes and coaches from Asian countries participated, learned how to self-train, and then trained together in a 45-minute training session. Lecturers are Takashi Kikutani (former captain of Japan national rugby team), Hirotoki Onozawa (former Japan national rugby team player), and Tomohiro Usui (former Sunwolves Strength & Conditioning Coach) of Bring Up Rugby Academy.
