NewMO! Activities were conducted at the 17th Nippon Scout Jamboree (17NSJ) held in Refresh Village Hachigasaki in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The programme, conducted in cooperation with the Japan Anti-doping Agency (JADA), was designed to promote thinking about the value of sports. A total of 562 children (between 12 and 16 years old) from twelve countries, including Singapore, the U.S. and South Korea, participated in the programme.
At the opening ceremony, the participants watched a manga movie about Fair Sports produced by JADA. The children took part in the NewMO! programme during the Jamboree, which offered an opportunity to learn the value of sports and related issues.Participating children made the following comments regarding the program: “It was typical for the scouts to decide the rules through discussions.” “I learned about the importance of rules.” “It was fun because we adjusted the rules so that everyone could join in the game.”

Feedback from Participant :
The preliminary briefing session helped deepen our understanding. We also conducted a rehearsal with the scouts before the Jamboree. A lot of the children enjoyed the outdoor activities and sports while learning the importance of fair play and rules. The programme will motivate them not only in their daily life but at school and community as well to become good citizens and contributing members of society.
