For the first time at the Sapporo International Sports Hall, the Sapporo Sport Association held a salsa dance session by a foreign instructor in English. They provided a place for international exchange students, where foreigners and Japanese people could spend time together. English was the main language the participants used to communicate even though the instructor knew how to spoke in Japanese, which allowed everyone to feel comfortable as they enjoyed their time at this event.
Salsa is a unique and different practice from English language lessons which allowed the international exchange event to commence knowing that participation of foreigners is rare in Hokkaido and because of this, quite a few locals gathered.
