With the objective of supporting skill development among Peru’s physical-education teachers, activities were held to impart knowledge of physical-education programs in Japanese schools.
In January 2018, six people connected to physical education in Peru were invited to Japan to be introduced to Japan’s physical education departments. They were able to see how Japan’s knowledge has been put to use. To help them develop their programs, specialists were sent to Peru to see first-hand the activities, have a briefing session, a meeting, and a seminar. After the invitees returned to Peru, it’s clear that the elementary and middle school physical education teachers as well as instructors and students in university-level training programs researched methods for reaching the quality of Japanese physical education and made efforts toward skill development.
To further develop advancements in Japan’s and Peru’s physical education, continued collaboration among people in this project will be carried out.

Feedback from Local Contacts :
The Lima City board of education was very grateful to be part of this collaborative project with Japan. Lima has 2 million students and 56,000 teachers (kindergarten through grade 12). I think this project will have a large impact on the targeted regions. I would like to continue to work with you. (Lima Board of Education Chair)
