The Japan Sport Council and the Japan Rugby Football Union have held an international exchange event through tag rugby in collaboration with the Thai Rugby Union, local schools, the Bangkok Japanese Rugby Football Club, and Ryutsu Keizai University.
Japanese and Thai children living in Thailand enjoyed international exchange through tag rugby. Former Japan national team players Mr. Masatoshi Mukaiyama and Mr. Yohei Shinomiya, and 2015 women's Japan national team Ms. Emi Ito and Ms. Aimi Inoue taught tag rugby to children. A mini tournament was also held by a mixed team of Japanese and Thai, and an exchange party was held after the match. The members of the winning team and eight players who adhered to the theme decided by each team were commended as MVPs.

Comments from Mr. Nattapol Hemyoo, Foreign Affairs Officer, Thai Rugby Union:
This event has been a great help to Thai children. If the next event can be held outside Bangkok, it would be great for the development of rugby throughout Thailand.
