Utilizing the "Sports Diplomacy Promotion Project" implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ski Association of Japan donated ski equipment to the Nepal Ski Association at the Embassy of Japan in Nepal on July 13, 2017.

Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, handed a set of equipment to the President of the Nepal Ski Association, Jeevan Ram Shrestha. There was also a meaningful exchange of opinions, such as considering the invitation of Nepalese skiers. As a leading country in winter sports in Asia, we will continue to make efforts to improve the competitiveness and popularize sports in Asian countries.

See below for the Japanese version.

Feedback from Local Contacts :

We would like to thank the Government of Japan, the Embassy of Japan, and the Ski Association of Japan for their support. Although there are still only 15 skiers in Nepal, we would like to work on popularizing skiing and strengthening skiers. I am confident that this effort will improve bilateral and friendly relations between athletes.
